Going into the den…

There wasn’t a great deal of feedback on yesterday’s ‘blog (there were 2 ‘likes’) and then I had an email in from a dog, which simply said, ‘Ggggggrrrrrr, ggggrrrrrrrrr, ggrrrrrrrrrrr’ – so I’m guessing I annoyed him somewhere along the lines…

A kind soul also told me that Jose Mourinho’s dog was stolen when he was Chelsea manager, I’m not sure what he was called; but I think it was called Dider Dogba – the dog’s favourite trick was rolling around on the floor…

Anyhow, it’s time to crack on with today’s subject… and I was surprised to see that Dragon’s Den entrepreneur Theo Paphitis has decided to leave this TV show (I was also a bit surprised to see that I just spelled his surname correctly a few moments ago) – and it’s the most controversial leaving of ‘the Den’ since he spilt up with Angie on Christmas Day.

I watch the Dragon’s Den programme with interest and I do like some of the people who appear on it, for example Levi the Reggae Reggae Sauce man is a brilliant inspiration and he’s a credit to his family – he hasn’t forgotten his Roots…

That said, some of the ideas tend not to go down very well and the man whose idea was a business that involved getting people to make toast by breathing fire was roundly criticised – which was a bit ironic given that he was being ridiculed for fire breathing by some Dragons…

The Dragons themselves aren’t immune to the odd bit of controversy, for example the former Dragon James Kahn courted controversy a few years ago when he was filming a documentary and he saw a poverty stricken man holding a child and he offered to buy the baby from the impoverished man (that’s actually ture), although the way he put it was that he offered to purchase 100% of the equity in the baby for around £1,000 (I made that bit up). All in all, he acted stupidly – I just Kahn’t believe he did it…

He’s not the only one to be involved in a controversy as one Dragon was involved in a scandal when he got drunk and told a particularly attractive guest on the show that he wanted to put 10% of himself into her…

There was also a big question mark once as to whether one of the male Dragons was a closet homosexual… there was much tooing and froing in the press and malicious speculation… but in the end, he declared himself ‘out’…
